The CSL Behring program, Getting’ in the Gamesm Junior National Championship was the first and is currently the only national sports competition designed specifically for the bleeding disorders community. The JNC features accomplished Getting’ in the Gamesm athletes who themselves have been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder.
During the program nominees will have the opportunity to:
- Take part in baseball, basketball, golf, or swimming activities to learn the fundamentals and enhance their skills in that sport.
- Learn about the importance of physical fitness and managing a bleeding disorder and receive instructions on proper stretching techniques and good athletic form.
- Show off their ability in the national competition with fellow nominees from around the country.
- Connect and build relationships with fellow members of the bleeding disorders community by sharing their personal experiences with one another.
The HFMD is excited to announce that BDAND has been chosen to host a GutMonkey Pathfinders program and they have graciously extended the invitation to HFMD members, far and wide. This family-friendly hiking event will take place at beautiful Itasca State Par and take most of the day. Lunch will be provided.
We know that it may be a long journey for some of you to travel to the area, so we have reserved a room block at the Double Tree by Hilton in Bemidji for Friday and Saturday night. We have a room rate of $199/night for lakeview rooms. Hotel scholarships are available for those who are traveling more than 100 miles and request it. BDAND and HFMD will cover the cost of one hotel room per patient family. When registering for the event, you will indicate which nights, if any, that you plan to stay.
